I posted this fascinating 1885 townhouse in St. Louis, Missouri, 2 yrs. ago, but it's still on Zillow's site b/c it's so unusual! Thanks to thefurgler for sending it to me, b/c I love to re-post these homes in case anyone missed it. 3bds, 3ba, sold for $325K, which was much less than the $399,500 price tag. (I guess sometimes unique properties are harder to sell.) Enjoy looking at this one.
Tumblr media
The first thing we encounter out front is this sign. What does it mean? The address is 1204 S. 18th St. Notice the Foo Dogs guarding the door.
Tumblr media
The entrance hall has one of those magnificent giant wall mirrors and it was painted gray with silver accents. I'm getting a creepy castle vibe.
Tumblr media
A lot of remodeling was put into this home, but I'm so confused by it. I THINK that this is what was once the sitting room, b/c of the original fireplace. (Notice how low above the coffee table the light fixture is.)
Tumblr media
This piece looks like an architectural salvage church altar. An "altered altar," b/c it has a glass display in the middle.
Tumblr media
Looks like conversation seating.
Tumblr media
Okay, this is recognizable as the guest powder room. Interesting.
Tumblr media
I have no idea where we are or what this is. Looks like a sunporch w/a lap pool, maybe? This house is surreal. Note that the gate is chained.
Tumblr media
Okay, we're in the kitchen. What a weird stove. Nice exhaust hood, though.
Tumblr media
Kitchen cabinetry, a sitting area, and a display case in the wall?
Tumblr media
Going upstairs.
Tumblr media
What is this place?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Where the hell are we?
Tumblr media
One of the baths.
Tumblr media
Modern gallery?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh, yay, I think we found a bedroom. This house is exhausting.
Tumblr media
You can go out on the roof from here.
Tumblr media
Not much up here, though.
Tumblr media
That glass pyramid is kind of cool, but what could you do with it?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bedroom #2 is modern and has an en-suite.
Tumblr media
Big ol' heat stove down in the basement.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Zen garden in the back yard.
Tumblr media
Have to be careful back here.
Tumblr media
Covered patio.
Tumblr media
Beautiful block, but you never know what kind of decor could be lurking behind someone's front door. $325K, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it, though.

Tipping vs shoplifting anon here, thanks for your response. One more thing though, aren't employers supposed to make it up to waiters if they don't meet the regular minimum wage with tips? Unless I'm misunderstanding the law, I got it from the elaws section of the US Department of Labor website.
i was gonna answer this like a normal person but my autism decided to go overboard.
minimum wage for servers and if/how much their employers are required to credit them depends on the state. some states require employers to pay servers full state minimum wage, but some have a different minimum wage for tipped employees which is where the tip credit comes in. for example, missouri's minimum tipped wage is $6/hr, and state law requires that employers ensure employees are making at least $12/hr. and iirc this doesn't mean they have to look at how much the employee got in tips per hour and if there was one hour they got no tips they'd have to pay them an extra $6, it just means their wages plus tips should average out to at least $12/hr. and the thing with tipped work is that there is an expectation that you will make more than the minimum, which is why employers get away with paying tipped employees so little.
so say we have a hypothetical server who lives in missouri. they work on average around 25 hours a week, usually serving an average of 3 tables per hour and each table's check is usually around $40. if none of their tables tipped for a month and their employer was forced to make up the difference, before tax they would make a total of $1,200. if all their tables tipped an average of $10, before tax they would make a total of $3,600.
that's a huge difference. the first would put you well below the poverty line, especially if you have a family. you would likely not qualify to rent any apartments unless you had a partner whose income could make up the difference, and even though you would qualify for some federal assistance, it's difficult to get and maintain. the second would allow you to qualify for significantly better housing and especially if you had a partner's income to rely on as well you could easily pay for health insurance and other necessities. and all it took was everyone at the table chipping in a few bucks.
if 10 people decide to steal $10 in pencils from walmart, walmart says "darn" then maybe files a loss prevention report. if 10 of our servers tables decide not to tip $10, that's $100 the server could have used to pay their bills or buy groceries. that's not to say tipping is in any way a good model for paying employees. it has an incredibly racist history, and relying on customers to basically pay your employees for you is fucked up. but until the system changes, tipped employees will continue to rely heavily on tips for their livelihood, and i will continue to consider tipping to be a moral imperative.

Chapter 18
My attitude toward the usual wedding formalities was naive and unsophisticated. If it had not been for my good friend Amber Doe, I can’t imagine what I would have done. Amber was great that way. She was raised in Missouri, where her mother was somewhat involved with political events and ventures. Amber knew all the social graces along with proper etiquette.
Before the wedding there had never been an occasion for formalities—the same people came around for years and were always included when there was a special party such as New Year’s at a local club or fireworks wars in back of Graceland.
She reminded me to order my own personalized stationery for later thank-yous and a guest book for later memories. She registered our name with the city’s finest silver and crystal dealers for the convenience of family and friends buying wedding presents.
I had never attended a wedding as large as ours—nothing even close. I was nervous. The bounty from the wedding showers took me by surprise. Graceland had always seemed to have everything anyone could want. We were content with what was there, plus little things I’d bought over the years, such as simple dishes and plain glasses (in case of breakage).
“What’s wrong with those?” I wondered. I was raised to be practical and it was showing. Amber introduced me to dining luxury, the top names in silver, crystal, china—Baccarat, Lenox, Steuben.
The wedding ceremony itself took place on May 1, 1967. Colonel William handled the arrangements. His plan was for Matt and me to drive from L.A. to our rented house in Palm Springs the day before the wedding, so that any inquisitive reporters who got wind of the event would think it was going to take place there.
In fact, we planned to rise before dawn on our wedding day and fly from Palm Springs to Las Vegas, where we were scheduled to arrive at the city clerk’s office at 7 a.m. to get our marriage license. From there, the plan was to rush over to the Aladdin Hotel, dress, have a small ceremony in the private suite of the hotel’s owner, and then—we hoped—slip out of town before anyone noticed.
Time was of the essence. We knew that once we applied for a marriage license, the news would flash around the world. It actually was only a few hours after we got our license that Rona Barrett’s office began calling to ask if rumors about the marriage were true.
Matt and I followed the Colonel’s plan, but as we raced through the day we both thought that if we had it to do over again, we would have given ourselves more time. We were particularly upset at the way our friends and relatives ended up being shuffled around. The Colonel even told some of the boys that the room was too small to hold most of them and their wives, and that there wasn’t time to change to a bigger room. Unfortunately, by the time Matt found out, it was too late for him to do anything about it.
Now I sometimes look back at all the commotion of that week and wonder how things could have gotten so out of hand. I wish I’d had the strength then to say, “Wait a minute, this is our wedding, fans or no fans, press or no press. Let us invite whomever we want, and have it wherever we want!”
It seemed that as soon as the ceremony began, it was over. Our vows were taken. We were now husband and wife. I remember flashbulbs popping, my father’s congratulations, my mother’s tears of happiness.
I would have given anything for one moment alone with my husband. But we were immediately rushed out for a photo session, then a nationwide press conference, and finally a reception, with more photographers.
Mrs. Matt Sturniolo. It had a different ring, a nicer sound than previous labels such as “constant companion,” “teen heartthrob,” “live-in Lolita,” “lover.” For the first time, I felt accepted by my peers and the majority of the public. There were exceptions, of coursethose who had that little hope that they might be the one to finally catch Matt. I didn’t understand that at the time. I was in love and just hoped they would be happy for us.
When I read in the newspapers that I was the best-kept secret in Hollywood, I felt very proud; it was good to be acknowledged. The years of doubt and insecurity of where and if I belonged were over.
I was both exhausted and relieved when we finally returned to Palm Springs aboard Frank Sinatra’s Learjet, the Christina. There were more photographers and reporters waiting for us as we stepped off the plane, and others were parked outside our home.
I was surprised that Matt was holding up so well, considering how nervous he’d been about this ultimate commitment. Yet he was charming with the press and dealt easily with endlessly clicking cameras and flashbulbs, all of which he could usually tolerate only for short periods of time. On top of everything else, we hadn’t slept for nearly forty-eight hours.
In his own way, Matt was determined that our wedding day would be special for us. He joked with Nate Doe, asking, “Is this the way it’s done?”
He carried me across the threshold of our house singing “The Hawaiian Wedding Song.” He stopped and gave me a long, loving kiss, then proceeded to carry me up the stairs to our bedroom, the whole crowd teasing and applauding.
It was still daylight and the sun shone brightly through our bedroom windows as Matt carefully placed me in the middle of our king-size bed.
I don’t think he really knew what to do with me. After all, Matt had protected me and saved me for so long. He was now understandably hesitant about fulfilling all his promises about how very good this moment was going to be.
I have to laugh at how nervous we both were. One would have thought that it was the first time we had ever been together under intimate circumstances.
Gently, his lips touched mine. Then he looked deeply into my eyes. “My wife,” he said softly, as he drew me close. “I love you, y/nn,” he murmured, covering my body with his.
The intensity of emotion I was experiencing was electrifying. The desire and lust that had built up in me throughout the years exploded in a frenzy of passion.
Could he have known how it would be for me? Had he planned this all along? I’ll never know. But I do know that as I went from child to woman, the long, romantic, yet frustrating adventure that Matt and I had shared all seemed worthwhile. As old-fashioned as it might sound, we were now one. It was special. He made it special, like he did with anything he took pride in.
Within a few days we were in Boston, where Angela Sturniolo held a small wedding shower for me. At the end of May we threw a big reception at Graceland for all our friends and relatives—and some fans. Matt and I wore our wedding clothes, greeted everyone, sipped champagne, and shared cake just as if the party were taking place after the wedding ceremony. It was much more comfortable and relaxed than Las Vegas.
Laughing and somewhat high from the champagne, we could really have a good time. There were no photographers or strangers watching our every move.
It was fun seeing James get loose.
“Dad, you want some more champagne?” Matt asked, his eyes twinkling.
“Don’t mind if I do, Son. That’s pretty good stuff.”
“Yeah. Well, don’t drink too much. I don’t want my dad gettin’ in trouble. I see that blonde you’ve been eyein’.”
James stole a glance at the girl and, with the same twinkle replied, “She ain’t too bad, is she? Think I’ll go see if she needs anything.”
Matt turned to me and said, “I like seein’ Dad happy. He hasn’t had too much of it lately, poor ol’ guy.” He watched James make his way through the crowd.
The reception at Graceland was our way of trying to make everyone happy—those who hadn’t known about the wedding ceremony, those who knew but couldn’t attend, and those who knew but weren’t invited. It was a way of including everyone, of making up to anyone whose feelings might have been hurt during the rushed hours in Vegas.
One person who had been very upset was Red West. He had not been invited to the wedding ceremony in the suite, only to the reception afterward. I believe the reason Red was so hurt was because Matt did not demand that he be present, did not take a stand over Colonel William’s decision that only the immediate family and best man attend. I also believe that Red wanted to be best man. After all, he’d known Matt the longest, since their days at Humes High. When Red found out he could not watch the ceremony, he refused to come at all.
Matt was aware of Red’s decision but was determined not to let anything mar the wedding. I understood that but was never able to figure out how Marty Lacker made it to the ceremony. In a last-minute decision Matt had included him as best man along with Nate Doe.
It took a long time for Red to come around again without showing his displeasure. This bothered Matt and he discussed it with many of us, justifying himself and blaming Colonel for putting him in an awkward position.
“You didn’t make the decision—I did,” Colonel reportedly stated. “No matter who you picked, there was gonna be someone left mad. You got too many as it is. You oughta listen to me and let go of some of ’em, then these things won’t come up.”
There’s an old Southern belief that holds that a woman goes into a marriage thinking she can change her man, while a man wants his woman to stay the same as when he married her. I didn’t want to change Matt, but I did have the romantic delusion that once we were married, I could change our life-style.
For the first few days after the wedding, I thought my dream had come true. We divided our time between Graceland and the ranch, where Matt and I had taken up residence in a large, three-bedroom trailer.
It was typical of Matt to choose the trailer over the quaint little house. He had never lived in a trailer before and it intrigued him. The place was completely furnished, including a washer, a dryer, and a modern kitchen. It turned out to be very romantic.
I loved playing house. I personally washed all his clothes, along with the towels and sheets, and took pride in ironing his shirts and rolling up his socks the way my mother had taught me. Here was an opportunity to take care of him myself. No maids or housekeepers to pamper us. No large rooms to embrace the regular entourage.
I got up early, put on a pot of coffee, and started his breakfast with a pound of bacon and three eggs, proudly presented it to him the moment he woke up.
“You see, if we were ever stranded somewhere alone, you know I can take care of you.”
It must have been difficult for him to eat the instant he opened his eyes—but he wasn’t going to disappoint his new bride.
Although the rest of the group traveled with us, they respected our privacy as newlyweds and, for the most part, left us alone.
I understood Matt’s need for the camaraderie the entourage provided, and I didn’t want to take him away from the people he loved, especially now that we were married. He had always criticized wives who tried to change the status quo. He told me about one wife, saying, “She doesn’t like him to be around the boys so much. She’s going to cause problems in the group.” The last thing I wanted was for Matt to think I’d be the kind of wife who’d come between her man and his friends.
I decided one evening to show off my cooking skills for everyone by making one of Matt’s favorite dishes, lasagna. I invited the regulars, bragging to one and all about how well I prepared this Italian specialty. Despite my outward confidence, I must have made ten longdistance calls to my mother in New Jersey, checking and rechecking on quantities and measurements. It was important for me to prove myself a success. Nate Doe, our only Italian and a “gourmet chef,” kidded me all week about how he bet that my lasagna wouldn’t be as good as his. All that ribbing only made me more nervous. I kept thinking, What do I know about pasta? I’m not even Italian.
Finally, the night of the dinner came. Everyone was seated at the table, watching me expectantly. I tried to appear cool and confident as I brought out the fancily prepared platter and started cutting individual squares for my guests. I did notice that when I started slicing the lasagna, it felt a little tough, but thinking I was holding a dull knife, I continued dishing it out.
I sat down, smiled anxiously, and said, “Please start.” We all took a bite and—crunch. There was a look of shock on everyone’s face. I looked at my plate and was mortified when I realized I had forgotten to boil the pasta.
Matt began laughing, but when he saw I was about to cry he turned to his plate and began eating, uncooked noodles and all. Taking their lead from him, everyone followed suit.
Nate Doe still laughs about it, frequently saying, “y/nn? How about some lasagna?”

A few minutes earlier, Walz had been onstage in Washington at a Center for American Progress event, chiding a crowd of engaged but worried Democrats, “Everybody who says, ‘I wish he was younger.’ I wish I was skinnier! [Florida Gov. Ron] DeSantis wishes he was more likable! It’s not going to happen. … There’s a responsibility for us not to buy into that.”
STOP EXPECTING THINGS OF US!
Or as Pennsylvania Rep. Brendan Boyle told CNN more bluntly, “People should shut the hell up.”
STOP DEMANDING WE DO ANY BETTER!
“I deal in the real world,” said the Philadelphia-area Democrat, who has been proudly supporting Biden for years. “He is going to be the nominee, regardless of whether people think they can construct on paper a more attractive nominee or not.”
IT'S NOT GONNA HAPPEN!!!
“Every time Democrats go on TV and say, ‘The president’s done a great job, but he’s 80 years old,’ all they’re doing is feeding this appetite out there by some for a third-party run,” said Missouri Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, a Kansas City-area Democrat. “And that could be the worst thing that happens in a century.”
WE LIVE IN THE BEST OF ALL POSSIBLE WORLDS DON'T LOOK FOR ALTERNATIVES AND RUIN EVERYTHING NOW!
“Joe Biden is on the freedom, democracy and opportunity agenda that beat MAGA Republicans in 2020, in 2022, and will win again in 2024,” Ben Wikler, the Democratic party chair in the top battleground state of Wisconsin, told CNN. “Every hour that someone spends fantasizing about some other ticket is an hour they could have spent calling voters or raising money to help reelect President Biden and Vice President Harris.”
WE'RE GREAT! WE'RE DOING SUCH A GREAT JOB!! OUR POSITION IS COMPLETELY UNASSAILABLE AND WE'RE DEFINITELY GOING TO WIN EVEN THOUGH WE INSPIRE NO CONFIDENCE IN OURSELVES OR OUR SUPPORTERS.
“All these pundits will talk about polling, polling, polling — OK, fine, let’s talk about that,” Harris said, drawing an enthusiastic standing ovation during the DNC meeting in St. Louis. “What we did on the climate crisis: I think 80% popularity. Lowering the cost of prescription drugs to $35 a month, I think everyone loves that. $2,000 a year for seniors for prescription medication, hallelujah. Fighting for relief of student loan debt. 800,000 new manufacturing jobs. Popular, popular, popular.”
Delusional, delusional, delusional.
“That which doesn’t kill him,” the congressman said hopefully, “makes him stronger.”
lol, lmao

My partner and I are planning a road trip here in the next few days. 15 hours to Kansas to possibly buy an RV. Might even see the house where I grew up in Missouri. Hopefully whatever RV we get pulls us, and our car, through our "UHAUL Lesbian" phase and into our "Canadian Immigration" phase. So fucking pumped.
If you see a hot butch enby riding shotgun with a curly red-haired tranny in a sick ass RV say hey!

Jess Piper at The View From Rural Missouri:
When I first moved to Missouri, I taught at a school in Kansas City. I introduced myself for the first time to a co-worker, and she asked where I was from; I told her Arkansas. I didn’t specify a town because no one has heard of Altus, AR. She said, “What’s it like moving to a big city?” She assumed I was from a small town because I was from Arkansas. I laughed and asked her if she’d ever heard of Little Rock or any town in Northwest Arkansas? They are pretty big cities and all are in Arkansas.
To be clear, I was not offended. I am rural, but I have noticed over the years that folks confuse GOP-dominated states with rural spaces. They aren’t the same. Even the reddest states have blue cities. Even the most regressive of states will have progressive voters. And, rural communities always have Democratic voters. Ask me how I know. I know there has been much written on the vote-against-our-their-self-interest, redneck voter. Something about red hats and diners. Something about guns and racism. A lot of it isn’t nice or even true. I have some thoughts…
Reaching rural voters.
Rural folks aren’t props. You don’t have to pander to us with pickups or jeans or boots, although if you showed up in a pair of Mucks, I’d know you were the real deal. You don’t have to wear a plaid shirt, or drive a flat bed— looking at you, Josh Hawley. You don’t have to use the word “y’all” unless it’s natural. You don’t have to talk down to us like we aren’t educated. You don’t have to ask about crop prices unless you know enough to not embarrass yourself. You don’t have to act any differently with rural people than you would with any other bloc of voters.
[...]
It’s not that difficult to understand rural people. Many of us have been rural all of our lives and we want the same things every other American wants. We are like you in most respects, but we might value physical privacy and a hands-off approach to government a little more — and we don’t mind a long drive to town. Here are a few misconceptions about rural Americans:
We all live on farms. In fact, most of us don’t. Many of us work in ag, but we don’t own big farms. You need generational wealth to buy a farm that you can make a living off of. There is a listing just down the highway from me for 220 acres of tillable ground. No house, no out buildings, no barns. It’s listed at 1.5 million. That’s just the land. Now, go price a combine. You’ll need generational wealth.
We all vote against our self-interest. We often vote for progressive ballot initiatives (hello, legalized weed) so you know that’s not true. However, I will not be able to vote for a State Representative in November. My current Rep has no Democratic opposition. Last cycle, it was me running against him, but I couldn’t afford to run again this cycle. When tallying up Dem voters, it will be easy to write my district off, but we will have no one to vote for. I couldn’t vote in my self-interest if I wanted to.
We are all gun nuts. I mean, a lot of us own guns, but we also use them. They are tools in my house, not accessories to wear to town and never used to intimidate. My kids hunt (we eat what we harvest) and we also use them to protect livestock. It’s also handy if you’re in FFA and enjoy competing in shooting events. P.S. Not all of our kids are in FFA or 4H, but those programs are awesome…especially for young women.
We are all racists. I’m absolutely positive rural America has its share of racists, but guess what? So do the cities. There are Black folks who have lived in rural spaces for generations (shocking!) There are people of all backgrounds who call rural America home, just like every other corner of the US. We have racists, but racism isn’t just contained in rural spaces. It’s an American epidemic, not a rural one.
We are all angry. I recently read a book title about the “angry white rural voter” written by a couple of progressives and my first though was, well, this will help the cause. Yes, there is anger, and if you visit places like my town, you’d see why. We aren’t building, we are razing. We aren’t growing, we are diminishing. The anger isn’t from some pissed off redneck. It’s local folks seeing their way of life dying. Their children moving away and never coming back. It’s not anger…it’s sadness. Yes, many of us could vote better, but back to not having a Democratic nominee…
Here’s what I truly think; the way back to sanity is through rural America and red states. Wyoming has the same amount of Senators as California — why not send money and resources to Wyoming? Or Montana. Or Arkansas. Or Iowa. Or Missouri. Contest every seat on every ballot — even in rural spaces. Especially in rural spaces.
Jess Piper writes yet another home-run piece on rural voters and Democrats: they are in rural areas, even if they are outnumbered and oftentimes don't have a candidate running for such offices.
Hopefully the trend reverses.

Donald Trump delivers victory speech after US election win
Post-Election Truths: The Things That Won’t Change (No Matter Who Wins)
“If voting could ever really change anything, it’d be illegal.”— Thorne, Land of the Blind (2006)
After months of handwringing and mud-slinging and fear-mongering, the votes have finally been cast and the outcome has been decided: the Deep State has won. Despite the billions spent to create the illusion of choice culminating in the reassurance ritual of voting for Donald Trump or Kamala Harris, when it comes to most of the big issues that keep us in bondage to authoritarian overlords, not much will change. Despite all of the work that has been done to persuade us to buy into the fantasy that things will change if we just elect the “right” political savior, the day after a new president is sworn in, it will be business as usual for the unelected bureaucracy that actually runs the government.
77 Days Of Transition: New Law Aims To Streamline Presidential Power Transfer Process
Under this mandate, Trump and Harris may find themselves forming rival administrations for weeks...
The 2024 presidential election will see the first application of a 2022 amendment to the laws governing the transfer of power between administrations. There are 77 days between the Nov. 5 election and the Jan. 20, 2025, inauguration of the next president, during which time the president-elect will ready his or her administration to take over from President Joe Biden. The handoffs between an outgoing administration and a government-in-waiting have been largely drama-free for decades, and they have been governed by the rules enumerated in the Presidential Transition Act of 1963.
Michigan Man Arrested for Threat to Murder Christians If Trump Wins
Federal law enforcement has arrested a 25-year-old Michigan man for allegedly threatening to carry out a terrorist attack against Christians should President Donald J. Trump reclaim the White House.
According to the Department of Justice (DOJ), Isaac Sissel is being charged with sending threatening communications. “I shall carry out an attack against conservative Christian, [sic] filth in the event trump [sic] wins the election. I have a stolen [AR-15] and a target I refuse to name so I can continue to get away with my plans,” Sissel allegedly wrote, according to an anonymous online threatening submission filed with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) National Threat Operations Center in West Virginia on November 2.
Antifa Returns On Election Night, Causing Chaos In Downtown Seattle
"Seattle PD had a heavy police response to Antifa's violent direct action on Election Day."
The potential return of former President Trump to the White House appears to have sparked rage among far-left activists on Tuesday night. With Trump currently leading the electoral count at 214 votes to Harris's 179, reports are surfacing from Seattle that show Antifa activists have mobilized.  Ahead of the elections, National Guard troops were activated in Alabama, Arizona, Delaware, Hawaii, Iowa, Illinois, North Carolina, New Mexico, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, Wisconsin, and West Virginia. Guardsmen in Colorado, Florida, Nevada, and Washington, D.C., are on standby.

If you still do the shipping thing I want to do it so here is what I am like and what I look like. I have short brown hair and and wear a lot of baggy clothes. I m really messy and I like to hunt. I was basically raised in Missouri(no I don’t live in Missouri) I like collecting plushies. I don’t like to hang out with girls and I don’t know if this matters but im trans. More specifically a trans boy. And if you do answer me thank you
We ship you...Henry!!
Tumblr media
Henry strikes me as the kind of guy that would enjoy hunting...I mean he did try to shoot a cat?
Hunting dates 100%.
He's not very good at it..he's trigger-happy so the majority of the time he does not hit anything.
You two will constantly steal each other's clothes
Probably him more than you because he seems to have a limited wardrobe.
He does not understand plushies..so don't expect him to buy you any.
*cough* He secretly likes how soft and comforting they are....HE WILL NEVER ADMIT THIS.
Doesn't really have an opinion on your hair...either way, he's gonna be pulling it when you two...*cough*
Anyway...moving on.
I think Henry is 50/50 clean and dirty.
His dad is a complete slob..and asshole so I'd imagine he's picked up that habit but at the same time knows how to clean up after himself.
You two probably would hang out in the woods a lot when you two aren't hunting.
He is a complete dick to other people...he's a dick to you as well but just not as severe??
It's Henry Bowers...he's not the greatest person.
It takes him a while to let you in his little 'gang' but when he finally does he expects you to be able to handle yourself.
That being said if the guys get a little out of hand he will step in and tell em to fuck off.
You are not under any circumstances allowed in his house when his dad is home.
Chances are you are never meeting his dad.
He spends a lot of his time at your house.
Overall he is an unstable boi but like...it's fine
You can fix him....(famous last words.)

Politicoreported Sunday that the American Israel Public Affairs Committee "the biggest source of Republican money flowing into competitive Democratic primaries this year," sparking new calls for candidates and voters nationwide to #RejectAIPAC.
"If you don't want Republican megadonors to choose your next Democratic congressperson for you, then there's only one option: #RejectAIPAC," Naftali Ehrenkranz, digital director at Get Free, said on social media, pointing to the reporting.
Also noting the "bombshell" report, Yonah Lieberman, co-founder of the Jewish American organization IfNotNow, said that "AIPAC is a GOP front group. Democrats who accept their money or endorsement should be shamed out of the party."
Institute on Race, Power, and Political Economy senior fellow Nina Turner, a former Democratic congressional candidate, declared, "AIPAC is a right-wing group that buys deep blue seats."
Trita Parsi, executive vice president of the Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft, drew a comparison to the National Rifle Association, saying, "Imagine how mainstream Democrats would react if the NRA was the single biggest source of Republicans donating into Democratic primaries."
Support for or criticism of the Israeli government has become a defining issue in this election cycle over the past eight months, as Israel has waged a war on the Gaza Strip that has led to a genocide case at the International Court of Justice. AIPAC, which supports pro-Israel Democratic and Republican candidates, has targeted progressives who oppose the military assault.
...
Politico put out the findings from its analysis—which is based on a review of Federal Election Commission filings from AIPAC, the ActBlue and WinRed donation platforms, and individual campaigns—a day after thousands of American critics of Israel's war and U.S. complicity in it descended on the White House while Israeli forces slaughtered hundreds more Palestinians.
According to the outlet:
Only about 2% of this cycle's donors to Democratic candidates or through the Democratic giving platform ActBlue have also given to Republicans over the past few cycles, Politico's analysis found. But 46% of donors who have given to Democratic candidates via AIPAC this cycle have given to Republicans since the 2020 cycle. For Republican donors, giving to Democratic candidates in primaries helps ensure more moderate, pro-Israel candidates win in deep-blue seats where the general election is all but certain to be uncompetitive, and financial support for GOP candidates would be a waste.
The top recipient of AIPAC money—at least $1.61 million—is Westchester County Executive George Latimer, who launched his challenge to Democratic Congressman Jamaal Bowman in New York's 16th Congressional District after visiting Israel.
...
Politico pointed out that "competitive Democratic primaries are also the biggest targets for AIPAC's affiliated super PAC, United Democracy Project, which has already spent $19.8 million in them this year, including $9.3 million in the Bowman-Latimer race. That makes it by far the biggest outside group in Democratic primaries, with more money flowing from UDP than the next 10 biggest spenders combined. (The super PAC has also spent in a handful of GOP primaries, dropping $3 million total.)"
The New York arm of the Working Families Party, which is backing Bowman in the June 25 primary, shared Politico's graph of top AIPAC beneficiaries and stressed that "we must be united in rejecting AIPAC's efforts to subvert our democracy."

Tally Hall (sometimes stylized as tallyhall) is an American rock band formed in Ann Arbor, Michigan, in December 2002, and publicly active until the conclusion of their Good & Evil tour in 2011. The band is known for its upbeat melodies and whimsical lyrics. The members originally described their musical style as "wonky rock", later redefining their sound as "fabloo" (/fəˈbluː/ fə-BLOO[1]), in an effort to not let their music be defined by any particular genres after critics began defining the characteristics of "wonky rock".[2]

We made it back to Omaha in one piece. My 9yo Subaru with over 100,000 miles is sort of falling apart. I do NOT want another car, but Dominic is definitely going to buy a new car. Honestly, the only thing wrong with my car is that it has an oil leak and an ant infestation (yes, it happened to me AGAIN; I went to Alabama and got ants in my car). Also it needs new tires.
Dear Tom is feeling better, up to his annoying old cat antics, begging for food. I'm not certain that he's eating very much, but he's sounding more like his old self, at least. It was a minor miracle that we got him back here alive. He has a vet appointment tomorrow afternoon. I'm very thankful the long two-day drive went well for him and we didn't have to euthanize our cat in, say, Missouri.
When we got back to the house at 8pm, it was exactly as we left it in June: a disaster. I never had time to clean up from the chaos of having a baby then going back to my PhD work. It's a disaster here, and now it's work because our packed stuff for the summer has exploded. It looks like hoarders live here (maybe we're hoarders.) I don't know how this is going to get better in the week and a half I have left before I start my fall semester. One thing that will help is clearing out some of the baby stuff that R no longer needs. He went through a big transition this summer. He no longer needs all his bottles. I no longer need all my pumping supplies and the giant bottle sterilizer that takes up half of the counter in our small kitchen. I also don't need all the breastfeeding clothes and dresses I bought. I am still breastfeeding but starting tomorrow it will just be twice a day, in the morning and at night, and I don't need special clothes for that. My closet is jammed packed, a result of pandemic-spending and then buying maternity and then nursing clothes, and I just don't need most of that stuff anymore. It's going to hurt because I barely wore some of the things I bought, but I need to let those things go, and I need to free up space in my old-house closet (it is tiny.)
R goes back to daycare tomorrow, and I am sad about it!!! It feels ridiculous to be sad. I don't want to sit around all day tomorrow by myself and watch him in this dirty, cluttered house. Our house isn't even baby-proofed. He's so much more mobile now, and we are not prepared for it! But he's my buddy. We've spent every single day this summer glued together.
Baby Jesus be with me as I try to get through the transitions of the next three weeks.
